To mark the 30th anniversary of Evangelion's original premiere, Shanghai stationery brand JIU KOU SHAN has created the EVANGELION Pilot Planner + Daily Log, an officially licensed limited-edition collaboration.
From its mechanical binding and stainless-steel hardware to the artwork across the four books, the design is filled with details drawn from the industrial sci-fi world of Evangelion.
Built Around the Evangelion Aesthetic
The industrial sci-fi aesthetic carries through the physical design of the planner itself.
JIU KOU SHAN has developed an original bolt-based binding structure, using stainless-steel bolts and nuts alongside a stainless-steel handle, punched details and chamfered edges.

The four books are detachable and can be removed and rebound, while the pages also feature perforated tear lines.
The back panel can be folded out to create a self-supporting desktop structure, giving the planner a second life as something you can keep standing on your desk.

It is a rather elaborate piece of stationery — but in a way that feels very appropriate for Evangelion.
Five editions
The Pilot Planner + Daily Log is available in five editions, featuring Rei Ayanami / EVA-00, Shinji Ikari / EVA-01, Asuka Shikinami Langley / EVA-02, Kaworu Nagisa / EVA Mk.6, and Mari Makinami Illustrious / EVA-08.
Each edition carries its own colour palette and artwork throughout the four books and accompanying cards.

Celebrating 30 years of Evangelion
It's always interesting to see how a long-running series is interpreted through a different creative medium, and this collaboration feels particularly well considered.
Thirty years on, JIU KOU SHAN has created something that brings together Evangelion's visual language, its characters and EVA units, and a very distinctive piece of notebook design.
The EVANGELION Pilot Planner + Daily Log will be available at www.zabuzakka.shop from early November, in five limited editions.
