Discover the beauty of nature with the JIUKOUSHAN notebook series featuring John James Audubon's stunning illustrations of America's birds.
The high-resolution original images from the Brooklyn Museum have been expertly color-restored by JIUKOUSHAN. Their meticulous work brings back the vibrant colors and intricate brushstroke details of these 200-year-old masterpieces.

Building on French architect Villard de Honnecourt's geometric method, JIUKOUSHAN refined it by subdividing the page into 18 parts, with 15 segments each for the long and short sides, creating a layout ratio more suitable for modern note-taking. This method produces a layout ratio that perfectly aligns with the paper's proportions, embodying the beauty of classical geometry. The margins on opposite sides of the page are kept in a 1:2 ratio, leaving ample space for future annotations. This ancient layout method remains widely used in book design today, providing the hidden foundation for its aesthetic appeal.

In addition to JIUKOUSHAN's 18-part layout design, the pages feature 8 exquisite bird illustrations by Audubon, along with detailed descriptions of each species. These allow you to unexpectedly encounter the artist's masterpieces during your note-taking.
